Amy Tuck
Amy Tuck served in the Mississippi Senate from 1990-1999. In 1999 she was elected to the second-highest elective office in the state. She served as Lieutenant Governor for two terms, from 2000-2008. As Mississippi's thirty-third Lieutenant Governor, she was just the second woman to hold that office. While in these positions of state level leadership, she was an outstanding advocate of K-12 as well as Higher Education. She is quoted as saying, "I believe support for education is one of the best ways to serve the people of Mississippi." She is a sought after speaker, especially for women's groups, where she often focuses on the theme that women should take advantage of every opportunity to puesue their dreams. Having taught at the college level early in her career, she is quoted as saying "Being in the classroom gave me a true perspective of the influence education has on people's lives."
In 2000, Amy Tuck was named Special Assistant to the President of Mississippi State University. She currently serves as Vice President for Campus Services at Mississippi State University.
